Greatest Commandment
6:4-5 “Hear,
O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!5 “You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
10:12 “And
now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord
your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul,

possible to serve God acceptably -
b. It will
require every bit of you .. not keep back any part of you
Blessing - Curse
11:26-28 “Behold, I set before you today a blessing
and a curse:27 “the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God
which I command you today;28 “and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments
of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to
go after other gods which you have not known.

Live By Every Word
8:3 “So He
humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not
know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not
live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth
of the Lord.
1. Word of
God - able to instruct towards / about life…
2. Is
Inspired of God -- from the mouth of the Lord…
3. It is ALL
inspired - every word of God.
4. live by
bread vs. live by word - 'eat' -
'digest' -
Secret things vs. Revealed Word
29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God,
but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever,
that we may do all the words of this law.
a. The mind /
will of God is NOT known by intuition or human wisdom
b. The mind /
will of God is REVEALED - the inspired word.
c. Such
revelation teaches us to love / obey - for there is no other way!
Not Add Or Subtract
4:2 “You
shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may
keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
12:28-32 “Observe and obey all these words which I
command you, that it may go well with you and your children after you forever,
when you do what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God…..
32 “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe
it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.
